But the Star-News of Wilmington reports officials are trying to prevent Bird Island visitors from letting it all hang out.
Brunswick County. N.C., Commissioner Marty Cooke says Bird Island isn't an official clothing-optional beach, so indecent exposure laws apply.
Cooke says he'll work the sheriff's department to get a sign posted banning nudity.
