Fire engulfs railroad car in Berks Co.

Firefighters in Berks County are currently battling a fire that has engulfed a railroad car. A single-alarm fire broke out at 12:39pm in the vicinity of Klapperthal Junction near Poplar Neck Road off of Route 724 in Cumru Township.

The last car on the train is on fire. It is filled with rolls of paper and cardboard.

No injuries have been reported.

Officials are concerned about other train cars that are filled with alcohol.

At this time, those train cars have not been impacted by the fire.
