Jury selection begins in 'Rockefeller' trial

BOSTON - May 26, 2009 Rockefeller's real name is Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter. He is accused of fleeing with his 7-year-old daughter during a supervised visit in Boston in July. He and the girl were found six days later in Baltimore.

Lawyers began to pick jury members from a pool of 120 on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Superior Court Judge Frank Gaziano ruled the defense could use the name "Clark Rockefeller" during trial, but prosecutors could call him Gerhartsreiter.

His lawyers had argued it would be unfair for jurors to hear him called Gerhartsreiter, because he has been charged with, but not convicted of, providing a false name to police.
