A Reading School District teacher has been arrested on charges of selling cocaine to an undercover detective in the bathroom of a Berks County tavern. Fifty-four-year-old James Sweitzer was taken into custody around 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Iron Post Bar in Muhlenberg Township.

Sweitzer and another man, 43-year-old Luis Castaneda Salgado, are charged with delivering cocaine on four occasions to the detective, who is with the Berks County drug task force.

Authorities say the detective purchased small amounts of cocaine from both suspects during the investigation, which began in April.

Sweitzer told the detective he teaches students with emotional issues.

The two men are being held on $100,000 each following arraignment.
