There are mandatory restrictions for water use for all customers in Lower and Upper Macungie Townships.
The problem is not a drought. It's too many people and too much demand.
There's plenty of water underground and plenty of storage. But the area needs new pumps to catch up with skyrocketing growth.
The problem has been caused in part by two new water-bottling plants in the area.
