A man wanted in multiple robberies takes a fatal jump off a bridge. Early Saturday morning, Philadelphia police located Michael Robert Dixon, a suspect wanted in the robberies of numerous banks and Rita's Water Ice stores, as well as a carjacking in New Jersey.

Dixon was driving a car as police attempted to stop him, but he failed to pull over and fled from police.

The chase ended when the suspect stopped on the Platt Bridge. After several hours of negotiations the suspect jumped off the bridge.

He was pronounced dead. It is unknown if he jumped to escape police capture or to injure himself.

The investigation is continuing by Bensalem Police, US Marshalls and the Philadelphia Police Department.
