SEATTLE (AP) - July 15, 2009 ComScore Inc. estimates that Bing, the new site, has snagged 8.4
percent of U.S. Web searches in June, up from 8 percent in May.
Microsoft remains a distant third to Google and Yahoo.
Although the number of searches rose 12 percent, Google and
Yahoo saw queries grow even faster.
Microsoft has said it's not expecting Bing's share to change
right away. But the comScore figures are lower than early June
reports showing Microsoft's share topping 10 percent.
Barclays Capital analyst Douglas Anmuth reported the comScore
figures in a research note Wednesday.
