Teen arrested in Del. school vandalism

PIKE CREEK, Del. - August 17, 2009 RELATED SLIDESHOW: The damage left behind at the school

Dane T. Smith, 17, of Wilmington turned himself in to police Monday and was charged with felony burglary and felony criminal mischief.

The Heritage Elementary School on Highlands Lane in Pike Creek, Delaware was hit back on July 20th.

A brand new computer lab was demolished, windows were smashed and floors were ruined with bleach and other cleaning supplies.

Police say the case remains under investigation, and there may be other suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call 302-834-2630 ext. 211 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.

Smith was also charged with with breaking two windows at the school four days before the inside of the school was vandalized.
