Prelminary reports are that an M-80 blew up in the child's hand. The child allegedly got ahold of the explosive and put it up to a candle, leading to the blast.
The child is said to be in stable condition, suffering from burns, lacerations, and possible broken fingers.
Special Victims detectives are investigating.
