Shop IKEA's As-Is Department for savings

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - Sept. 18, 2009

"As-is is a great department that offers an additional 25% to 75% off our regular items," explains IKEA Local Marketing Specialist Luz Morales. "But the thing is, these are items that are displays, or may have been returned or may have a small scratch or dent or something like that. "

Diane Helm makes it a point to stop by every time she shops here.

"We always come here, always, because we might see something, even glasses. You see a set of glasses for $8 on the shelf, and you come here and someone's returned them and they're $2," she says.

Here are some examples. A $118 dresser with a scratch, is on sale for $90.30. That's a 30% savings.

A $150 TV stand is on sale for $105. A convection oven from last year is selling for 50% off the original price of $899, Same with a stove, which was $999 and is on sale for $499. You can pick up a lamp for $10, a wall clock for $8, and Ikea's most popular chair, which usually sells $149, is here for $104.

And right now, if you shop the as-is department during the week, you get an added bonus.

"Right now, if you come into the store on a Monday through Friday and spend at least $75 in the as-is department, if you ask a co-worker, we'll give you an additional 10% off your next purchase in the as-is department on a Monday through Friday, " Morales explains.

That 10% off deal is expected to last through the end of the year.
