Barricaded suspect taken into custody

PORT RICHMOND - August 24, 2009 Police were on the scene as a suspect involved in a shooting barricaded himself in a home on the 200 block of East Venango Street.

The barricade began around 10:00 p.m. Sunday night.

Police say the shooting occurred along the same block.

The victim in the shooting was transported to Temple Hospital in stable condition.

The gunman was taken into custody by police shortly after 11:00 p.m.

He has not yet been identified.
