Police report Brent Churchill's Toyota Solara convertible ended up in the Ohio River.
He was trying to make a U-turn on a boat ramp in Henderson, Ky.
Officers say Churchill spilled the hot chocolate into his lap and lost control of the car.
The Evansville Courier and Press reports the convertible top was down.
Churchill was unhurt and climbed out as the Toyota floated down river.
The sunken car was later found and towed out of the water.
