A Tennessee boy, who was rescued from a fiery crash in the Midwest, has finally left the hospital.

Five-year-old D.J. Harper was in good spirits yesterday as his parents wheeled him out of Children's Hospital just outside of Milwaukee.

He was in his mother's SUV on July 19 when it crashed into a tree. D.J. was severely burned.

Two off-duty firefighters rushed to the flaming vehicle and rescued him, his younger sister, and his mom.

D.J. has a very long, slow, painful recovery ahead of him. He still needs years of care including more surgeries.
