The boy was reported missing just before dusk Monday in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County.
Firefighters, a K-9 team and water rescue crews have been taking part in the search.
The search area is a rural part of central Pennsylvania, consisting mostly of farms and bordered by a creek.
