The council voted Saturday to make Rick Solloway to be the resort town's next mayor.
Outgoing Mayor Dell Tush received the least number of votes among sitting council members during last week's elections.
Solloway says his primary goal is to promote good stewardship on the council.
Commissioner Diane Hanson, who was approved by the council as town secretary for a second term, says having a new face in Dewey Beach politics would benefit the town.
