Man charged in Egg Harbor Twp. killings

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. - October 1, 2009 The Press of Atlantic City reports that Nicholas Nigro III is being held on $2 million bail.

Atlantic County prosecutors say the 25-year-old is the only suspect.

Police found 48-year-old Maryjane Buri-Mulder and 21-year-old Paula Mulder dead in their Egg Harbor Township home Wednesday.

An autopsy determined Buri-Mulder died of a gunshot wound to the head and Mulder was shot in the head and neck.

Buri-Mulder worked as a cocktail server at Caesars Atlantic City.

Authorities have not released a motive for the slayings.

Nigro said little during his brief court appearance Thursday, but did indicate he would need a public defender.

Police received a 911 call for shots fired around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police responded to the scene and both were found dead.

This happened in The Shires development, and this wasn't the first time it has been in the news. Back in 2006, it was the scene of a murder-for-hire plot.

However, neighbors say it is not a bad place to live.

"It's bizarre, but it all seems to be family related, not like it's gangs or drugs or anything like that," said Mark Santambrogio. "I"m not in fear of my life."
