18-year-old and mother shot in S. Phila.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - October 11, 2009 South Detectives were called to the scene of a shooting at the intersection of 3rd and Porter Streets around 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

Police say that an 18-year-old male was inside of a vehicle with his mother when someone started shooting at the car.

The 18-year-old was shot in the stomach and the groin. He was rushed to Jefferson Hospital and is in stable condition. His mother was also shot, in the buttocks.

She was able to take herself to Jefferson hospital. She is in stable condition.

Police are investigating.
