The fire broke out about 1:30 Monday morning in a house on the 3100 block of Arbor Street.
It took almost a half hour for firefighters to gain control of the blaze.
The injured firefighter was taken to Jefferson Univeristy Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
In the end, three homes were damaged in the blaze.
No word yet on the cause of the fire.
