WILMINGTON, Del. - October 12, 2009 It happened around 1:30 p.m. north of Edgemoor Road.

According to police, a tractor trailer hauling recyclable materials changed lanes and clipped a Nissan. Both drivers lost control, and the tractor trailer jack-knifed, hitting a guardrail multiple times and losing its load.

The Nissan collided with the truck a second time as both came to a stop.

The driver of the Nissan, Wendi Ross, 42, of New Castle, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, William Walsh, 28, of Raleigh, North Carolina, was not hurt.

Walsh was cited for unsafe speed, failure to signal, and aggressive driving. While investigating the crash, police say they also cited him for two federal violations in his log book.
