Wedding & beauty saving tips

October 12, 2009

"Sunday's are less expensive than Saturday's," Howard said.

Celebrity wedding planner, Donnie Brown, has a lot of other money-saving tips in his new book and says the first place to cut finances is to cut your guest list.

"Every single person adds an additional amount of money to the wedding."

Brides can also save money on their dress.

"Manipulate a gown that maybe isn't just perfect to make it more perfect for you."

Experts at David's Bridal say you can make an inexpensive gown look fabulous by adding a small embellishment or detailed veil.

And to save on decorations -get married the weekend after Thanksgiving or the weekend between Christmas and New Year's. Many venues will already have holiday decorations that are also wedding appropriate.

"These days food is more expensive than labor."

That means a buffet dinner is going to cost much more than a seated dinner.

Also negotiate down costs for valet service, cake cutting fees and overtime fees.
