Mrs. Fixit: Washing Soda

October 24, 2009

Washing soda or sodium carbonate is a very alkaline which make it act as a solvent for all sorts of greasy stains.

In the laundry room a washing soda added to your regular detergent will bind with minerals in the water allowing your regular detergent to work better and rinse cleaner. It can help remove stains from perspiration to chocolate and everything in between.

It also neutralizes odors so your laundry will come out fresher without needing to add extra fresheners or softeners.

In the kitchen and bathroom washing soda is a great all purpose cleaner. Mix a half a cup of soda into a gallon of warm water.

Make sure that you wear gloves when you're using this washing soda because it can irrate your skin.

Tubs, tiles, toilets, sinks, countertops you name it, this mixture will clean it. Simply scrub it on and then rinse it off.

Unlike chemicals, washing soda is better for the environment and your family. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
