But Accent on Design (83 E. Lancaster Ave., in Paoli, Pa.) is a boutique with a twist.
Everything in the store is pre-owned. But it's not a consignment shop.
At Accent on Design, they pay cash for your used designer duds.
"Bring everything in clean and on hangers," explains owner Diane Wulk. "We sort through it and we choose what we want to purchase. At that point, we make them an offer and if they accept, we own the clothing. They walk out with cash and we have some new inventory for our customers."
The racks here are full of designer name items, including many with their original tags. We found a Worth jacket, new with tags, selling for $125. It was originally priced at $748.
An Adrianna Papell embellished velvet jacket that retailed for $149 was priced at $29. A metallic lace skirt from Ann Taylor, tagged at $128 was $24. And never-worn Lilly Pulitzer sandals that were $178 were on sale for $59.
There are cases full of costume jewelry and shelves of shoes and purses, all at discounts up to 90% off retail. A pair of Coach boots weren't even priced yet, but Wulk said they'd be soon be walking out the door.
Wulk's advice to shoppers, "If we have it, grab it," because the inventory changes all the time.
