Police say a woman reported being raped sometime around 6:00 a.m. in the 5800 block of Ditman Street in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia.
They say the suspect then fled in a vehicle, hitting eight parked cars along the 6100 block of Hegerman Street, before fleeing on foot.
Neighbors say the suspect returned a short time later to retrieve something from the car, then took off again.
Around 3:00 p.m., police say they arrested 31-year-old Jose Miranda without incident.
Miranda has been charged with the alleged rape and faces several additional vehicle and indecent exposure offenses related to the incident.
The female victim is being treated at a local hospital.
