The crash occurred just before 4:00 p.m. Saturday when troopers believe Moosreiner was walking west on Harvey Road and was entering the intersection of Veale Road. At the same time Laurie Morente, 44, of Wilmington was traveling north on Veale Road driving a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. Morente was turning right onto eastbound Harvey Road when she struck Moosreiner.
Moosreiner was flown to Christiana Hospital where he would later be pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time. Morente was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol played a part in the crash on the part of the pedestrian.
