2 types of cribs recall reissued

December 2, 2009

The initial recall was announced in 2001, but the Consumer Product Safety Commission is re-announcing it after receiving a report that a 1-year-old girl died in her Betsy crib in 2003.

Her head was apparently trapped in a decorative cutout on the headboard.

The cribs were sold around the country between May 2000 through September 2001.

They were taken off the market after the 2001 recall, but may still be in homes or second-hand stores.

Crib owners should contact LaJobi for replacement end panels by calling 800-266-2848.
