Google search results to include 'real-time' data

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - December 7, 2009

The "real-time" search feature unveiled Monday marks a major step in Google's ambition to provide a comprehensive look at what people are discussing online as quickly as possible.

The fresh information will scroll across a section of the main results page; normally, a new search request was the only way to the blog posts, status updates and other information that Google had indexed since the previous query.

To stay on top of what's happening online, Google announced it has forged new partnerships to include some of the updates from two popular online hangouts, Facebook and MySpace.
