Ex-manager of The Fray fires back over lawsuit

DENVER (AP) - December 8, 2009

The band's hits include "How to Save a Life." A lawsuit is pending in federal court in Denver against Gregg Latterman over copyrights to the band's songs.

The band alleges Latterman failed to disclose that his management company obtained ownership to a portion of the band's music when songwriters Joseph King and Isaac Slade signed a publishing agreement in 2005.

Latterman, who managed the band's early career, disputed that in documents filed Monday and filed counterclaims alleging breach of contract and fiduciary duty. He says The Fray tried to end his management contract early and pressured him to accept concessions including smaller commissions as the band's popularity grew.
