Prior to towing the car, officers observed 4 bags of heroin stamped "Black Rabitt" in the ashtray. A further search of the car revealed 603 more bags of heroin wrapped in newspaper in the glove compartment along with a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun and $534 in cash.
Johnson was transported to headquarters where he was found to be a convicted felon. Federal agents were contacted and responded to Wilmington headquarters and took custody of Charles Johnson as an Operation Fed-Up (Federal enforcement and urban policing) candidate.
