The shooting happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. in the 600 block of West Venango Street.
Police say witnesses spotted 2 suspects running from the scene, but a detailed description is not yet available.
The teen victim was hit once in the stomach and once in the hand. Doctors at St. Christopher's Hospital began operating on him immediately on his arrival. There was no update on his condition Friday morning.
