Snowy footprints lead to suspected NJ car burglars

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - December 20, 2009

Middle Township police say the pair was arrested Saturday when an officer followed a trail of footprints through the snow.

Eighteen-year-old Joseph Grillo of North Cape May and a 17-year-old boy both face burglary and related charges. Police say the two stole various items from seven unlocked cars parked at homes and considered robbing several other vehicles.

Grillo was being held Sunday in the Cape May County Jail on $50,000 bail, while the juvenile was released to his mother. It was not known if either suspect had retained a lawyer.
