Streets Commissioner Clarena I.W. Tolson announced that trash and recycling will not be collected on Monday, December 21, so sanitation workers can continue to contribute to snow removal operations.
Residents should expect a one day delay in trash and recycling collections for the remainder of the week.
Given that this Friday is also the Christmas holiday, residents with Thursday and Friday collection are asked to place their trash and recycling out for collection on Saturday.
Streets Department sanitation crews will work over the weekend to collect the trash and recycling set out on Saturday.
The challenging conditions may result in isolated collection delays over the next 7 to 10 days. The Streets Department anticipates the resumption of normal trash and recycling collection on the Monday following Christmas.
