Bedbugs found in NJ elementary school

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. - March 30, 2010

Officials say an infested student brought the insects into Langtree Elementary School in Hamilton Township on Friday.

An exterminator applied insecticide to the student's classroom and to another classroom where the student's sister attends class over the weekend.

In an e-mail to school board members, Hamilton School District business administrator Carol Chiacchio says there is no longer an infestation. She says the school's nurse and principal are taking precautions with the student.

Bedbugs are small, flat bugs that feed on blood and make bites similar to those caused by mosquitoes.
