29-year-old Kenneth Carrington from the 600 block of Perth Place died after being shot in the 1000 block of Brown Street around 6:30 p.m.
Police believe someone drove by and shot Carrington multiple times.
Responding officers rushed Carrington to Hahnemann University Hospital but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
There is no word yet on the identity of a suspect.
