Police: Woman arrested for 3rd DUI assaults cop

MIDDLETOWN, Del. - July 26, 2010

Angel Arrowood, 24, of Garrison, NY, was found in a car with a flat tire around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Bunker Hill Road near US Route 301 in Middletown, Delaware.

When officers arrived, they say Arrowood had an odor of alcohol on her breath and had an empty bottle of vodka on the front passenger seat of her car.

While she was being questioned, police say Arrowood started yelling at them, then refused to answer questions. After a brief struggle, she was arrested.

Once in the police vehicle, officers say Arrowood began kicking the security screen that separates the front and rear seats.

She was taken to the Middletown Police Department and, once there, Arrowood allegedly charged and struck an officer in the face.

That officer suffered a cut near the eye and a bruised lip.

Arrowood was sent to Womens Correctional Institute in default of $2,600 secured bond.

Police say Arrowood was previously arrested for DUI in February of 2006 and in March of 2007.
