Shaun Mitchell, 26, of New Castle, was arrested without incident yesterday in the parking lot of the Community Plaza Shopping Center, located on Christiana Road in New Castle.
Mitchell is charged with attempted first degree robbery, assault first degree, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Shaun Mitchell was developed as the suspect in the attempted robbery and shooting of a Newark woman that occurred at the 7-11 Convenience Store located at 284 Christiana Road, New Castle on Sunday July 25, 2010 at 1:00 a.m.
Mitchell is accused of attempting to rob a woman at the 7-11 Convenience Store, located at 284 Christiana Road in New Castle on Sunday July 25. After he approached her in the parking lot of the store, Micthell allegedly demanded her belongings. The victim ignored him, and that's when Mitchell fired one shot and struck the victim in the lower leg.
Mitchell is currently committed to the Department of Corrections after being unable to pay $150,000 cash bond.
