Twenty-one-year-old Daniel Dougherty of Jenkintown was also ordered Friday to pay restitution and do 200 hours of community service. He pleaded guilty earlier to abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and conspiracy.
Montgomery County authorities said he helped 22-year-old Jeffrey Leinheiser wrap the body of 46-year-old Marc Rubin in a carpet and dump it in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. Before that, authorities said, the victim's body had been left to decompose in his apartment for more than a week.
Leinheiser was convicted of third-degree murder in the November 2008 death of Rubin, the father of his girlfriend Christina Rubin. She was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the case.
