The town of Riverhead, New York, is using Google Earth to find pools that don't have the proper permits.
Officials say satellite images revealed about 250 pools whose owners never filled out the required paperwork.
Violators have paid a total of about $75,000 in fees.
But some privacy advocates say use of Google Earth to find swimming pools reeks of Big Brother.
