On Thursday evening, officials removed 55 animals from a home located along the 500 block of Irving Avenue in Deerfield Township.
The list of animals recovered includes a ferret, a cockatoo, 3 cockatiels, 6 dogs, 19 cats, 23 rabbits, a guinea pig, and a chinchilla.
Bev Greco, Executive Director of the Cumberland County SPCA, says the animals were removed due to insanitary conditions in the home and lack of vet care.
The homeowner, described only as a single woman, is expected to be cited Friday for animal cruelty.
Animal officials are asking for the public's help in the form of food for small mammals and birds.
Greco says they've removed animals from this same home several times over the past decade and more, including 13 years ago, when they removed 173 animals from the home.
The owner also admitted to the SPCA that she bred the animals for money.
