A small bathroom will seem a lot larger if you hang a gallery of mirrors. The mirrors will bounce light around the room and fool your eye into thinking it's a bigger space.
Another easy bathroom expander, opt for glass shower doors instead of a curtain. Allowing your eye to travel all the way through the shower will expand the space.
Another tip, hang storage up and out of the way on a wall you don't see as you enter the room. Your eye won't be stopped by everyday bathroom clutter.
Want to make the ceiling in a room seem higher, install a faux tray ceiling. Simply by installing these strips of molding and painting out the strips and the space between them in your trim color, it will make your ceiling seem higher than it actually is.
If your budget is a little bigger, open some walls up. I knocked out the walls between the living room and what used to be the dark hallway. Even though the footprint of the room didn't change, the whole feel of the room did.
