Organizers said Friday that "127 Hours" would wrap up the festival on Oct. 28. It is directed by Danny Boyle, whose last film was the Academy Award-winning "Slumdog Millionaire."
The movie stars James Franco as Aron Ralston, the climber who escaped after five days in a Utah canyon in 2003 by amputating his right arm with a dull blade after it became trapped by a boulder.
The film is scripted by Simon Beaufoy, who also wrote "Slumdog Millionaire."
The 54th London Film Festival opens Oct. 13 with "Never Let Me Go."
