The unscheduled meeting ended without any public discussion of Lohan's progress at an inpatient rehab facility.
The treatment was part of a sentence imposed after another judge found the actress violated the terms of her probation in a 2007 drug case.
Lohan will have a status hearing on Aug. 25, court spokesman Allan Parachini said. He had no further details but said the star of "Mean Girls" and "Georgia Rules" will not be required to attend.
It was the first meeting of prosecutors, Lohan's attorney Shawn Chapman Holley and Judge Elden S. Fox, who took over the case after prosecutors complained about not being notified about discussions the previous judge held on the case.
Lohan has been in treatment at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center since Aug. 2 after serving 14 days in jail for the probation violation.
Her mother Dina Lohan has said on NBC's "Today" show that her daughter would be released soon. However, any modification of Lohan's rehab would have to be approved by Fox.
Holley did not immediately return an e-mail message seeking comment.
