Pa. hopes shame = tax cash

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - August 16, 2010

The Revenue Department said Monday it has broadened its online list of businesses and individuals who are delinquent to include not only employer withholding and sales tax, but all state liens filed since July 2009.

The more than 39,000 liens translate represent $233 million in taxes.

Officials said they're keeping their promise to step up enforcement efforts following the tax amnesty program earlier this year that brought in $261 million.

Revenue Secretary C. Daniel Hassell said his department aims to shame tax scofflaws into paying their fair share.
