Fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday inside a vacant home on Newport Gap Pike in Belvedere, Delaware. The house is located right next to the Belvedere Fire Station.
The house was destroyed by the blaze.
A half an hour earlier in Edgemoor Gardens, fire destroyed a vacant house along Pennewell Drive. The flames prompted the evacuation of residents on the block.
There was a suspicious trash fire nearby earlier in the evening.
The New Castle County Fire Marshal is investigating both fires.
