Police are looking for the public's help in identifying a man who was assaulted and seriously injured over the weekend.

It was around 7:45 a.m. Saturday when police were called to the Tower Plaza Shopping Center in the 4600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard.

That's where, a witness said, he had seen a man get punched. The man then fell to the ground and hit his head.

The attacker, along with an unknown number of other men, fled the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.

Police say he did not have any identification on him, however they believe his name may be Javier. He is about 30 years old, 5'8" tall, with a husky build, light complexion with black spiked hair. He was wearing blue jeans and brown boots.

Anyone with information on the victim's identity is asked to call Northeast Detectives at 215-686-3153.
