The shooting happened in the 700 block of Brown Street, near the intersection of 48th and Brown Streets, which is in close proximity to the Mill Creek Playground.
That's where police found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back of his head just after 2:00 Tuesday morning.
Medics took the victim to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is listed in stable condition.
There is no word on a motive at this time.
