It happened around 8:45 a.m. in the 300 block of North Franklin Street.
Police say the victim was found with several gunshot wounds to the torso.
He was rushed to Christiana Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators say there is no suspect information to report so far.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending a positive identification and notification of family members.
