Computer games to help smokers quit

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - September 6, 2010

That's the idea behind computer games aimed at helping smokers kick the habit.

Researchers from Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, and other institutions are working on the concept with the Vermont Department of Health.

Designer Amanda Crispel says the game is designed to tie up a smoker's hands and brain for five to 10 minutes.

That's just enough to get through the craving for another smoke.
