Western Pa. man killed in tractor accident

CLARION, Pa. - September 7, 2010

Pennsylvania State Police say 52-year-old Richard Porter, of Beaver, was trying to move logs on to a trailer when he was killed Sunday in Clarion, about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Police say Porter started the tractor while standing beside it, but it was in gear and began to move. Investigators say Porter ran beside the tractor, either to stop it or get on, but was dragged under.

The tractor stopped when it ran into a truck and witnesses used floor jacks to lift it off Porter, but he was pronounced dead at a hospital.
