Historic tombstones removed from NJ development

HOLMDEL, N.J. - September 7, 2010

The headstones are being replaced with flat placards.

Former township committeeman Terence Wall wants to know whether the development sought and received the proper permission to remove the headstones.

Wall says he's outraged because the 60 or so plots provided a historical accounting of township forefathers.

Beau Ridge Association president Edward Esler says everything was done by the letter of the association's laws.
