It all began around 4:30 a.m. Saturday when the suspect and her girlfriend were allegedly denied access to Club Motivation, located near the intersection of 8th and Dauphin Streets. Police say the women were turned away because they were intoxicated.
The suspect then got into her car and drove into a crowd of people outside the club. She then drove around the block and again drove into more people.
One woman was killed and six other people suffered various degrees of injury.
The suspect and her girlfriend were arrested at the scene. Investigators say this was an intentional act and that the case is now being treated as a homicide.
The age of the suspect is not known at this time. Police have still not charged anyone with a crime.
The identity of the woman killed in the incident is not yet being released.
